The papers contain memoranda which illustrate the organisation of the Ossewa Brandwag, how it was set up and functioned. There are photographs (unidentified) of parades and festivals. In the printed section there are newsletters and periodicals which amongst other cover the split with the Nationalists as well as the aims of the movement.

Material collected for a PhD. in History on white opposition to Apartheid 1945-1960, including transcripts of interviews, discussion papers and articles, dissertations and source documents. Subjects include: Liberal Party, South African Congress of Democrats, South African Communist Party, Torch Commando, Helen joseph and Bram Fischer.

The collection contains the Papers of Sylvia Brererton Neame (also known as Sylvia Neame-Jahn after her marriage in the 1980s to Gerhard Jahn), who was a political activist and member of the South African Communist Party.

The collection contains the documents relating to the activities of The Foundation for Human Rights in South Africa, for the period of 1996 to 2005, and an addition in 2019.
The records include information about a number of projects run by various South African Non-Governmental Organizations with the financial support of the Foundation. Each Project contains a set of documents relating to all the activities carried out including the proposal and the outcomes.
An addition to the collection was received in 2019, containing the records of the Institutional Reconciliation and Transformation Commission (IRTC) of the University of Cape Town.

The Society of the Sacred Mission is a brotherhood devoting itself to education and mission work at Modderpoort in the Free State and Lesotho. It took over the mission in 1902 from the Brotherhood of St. Augustine at Modderpoort. The records include the constitution, history, minutes, correspondence and general records relating to the Society of the Sacred Mission.

Included are the organisational records of the Union, such as minutes, memoranda, correspondence, case records and photographs. Subjects of interest include wages, dismissals and the Shop Hours Ordinance.

Plays, short stories, poetry, drawings, tapes, diaries, notebooks, music sheets, theatre programs and correspondence mainly with Robert Abrahams and Norah Taylor. also a biography of Yvonne Abrahams, incapacitated from poliomyelitis, in the form of a book and a play.
