Malakuphi Ndlovu serves her father-in-law Ambrose Mpheseni Ndlovu breakfast. The families were forcibly removed from their land in the St Lucia wetlands in 1957. her first task of the day is to rise at 4am in order to beat the queues at the pump, where she draws water for her household; then at 6am she heads for her garden, returning at 8am to do the rest of her chores.
