Correspondence

The correspondence is divided into subject groupings. The greatest part of the correspondence is that of St. Mary's Parochial Council, signed on their behalf by succeeding secretaries, including A. Hemming, T.L. Hinton, W.G. Gane, J.H. Mackenzie and G.S. Ritson. Also included are the letters of the rectors later deans) of St. Mary's such as J.T. Darragh 1887-1908, J.B. Seaton 1909-1914, S.F. Hawkes 1914-1918, M.G.J. Ponsonby 1919-1924 and W.A. Palmer 1924-1951, of assistant clergy such as A.H.T. Benson and W.E. Jenner and of other Johannesburg clergy such as G.H. Cameron, C.E.G. Goodall, W. Griffiths, E.J.F.H. Gunning, S.J. Knight, J.O. Nash, G.H. Ridout, F.J. Sharman, C.B. Shaw, O.W.L. Skey and C.F. Tobias. There are letters from Bishops Bousfield, Carter and Furse of Pretoria and Bishops Karney and Clayton of Johannesburg and from distinguished laymen connected with St. Mary's such as G.H. Bulman, E. Corfe, R. Feetham, A.P. Field, R.R. Hollins, E. Lezard, F. Raleigh, W. Rockey, C.L. Sansom, C.R. Savory, R.H. Sawyer, G. Sheffield, C.F. Stallard, P. Upton and C.F. Wienand. There is correspondence relating to the Parishioner, the parish magazine of St. Mary's Church, which started in 1903.

Loose sketches

The sketches are in water-colour, pencil, pen and ink. They relate mainly to the Cape with a few English scenes and two by her husband, Bp. Robert Gray.
