Correspondence addressed to Silas Molema in his capacity as tribal chief as well as secretary to the Paramount Chief of the Barolong. The correspondence is chiefly with government officials dealing with all aspects of administration, taxation, losses of cattle during the South African War, visit of Joseph Chamberlain in 1903, meetings between chiefs and government officials, water supply in Stadt, orders to protect land, prevention of the spread of diseases to livesteck, report of deaths among natives caused by epidemics and the tracing of missing tribal members.
