Memorandum on the productions of the Cape as furbishing articles for 'subsistence and for trade

The Cape is important for its strategic position and not for trade, although cattle, corn, wool and ivory exports could become valuable; deprecates lack of good ports and communications; comments on the civil, criminal, financial and military aspects of the Cape.

Inscribed on the back is "Remarks upon Bruce, received from Sir J.C. May 18.11.7".
