Abolition of the colonial chaplaincy makes the financcs of the Bishop difficult.
The synod of 1886 gives only partial acceptance to the Provincial Constitution and Canons, as many of the representatives are pro-Colenso in attitudc and wish to break with Cape Town.
Bishopric Endowment Ordinance passod 1886 but Sir H. Holland advises the Queen not to ratify it in its present form. The Ordinance is confirmed in 1887, with the Queen's right of appointment reserved.
