A history of genealogy collected and arranged by Rev. James Alexander Hewitt DCL Cape of Good Hope 1891, dating from AD716-1788 followed by poem 'Roslin Castle' composed by Richard Hewitt in 1754. There was a predominance of clerics among the Hewetts, the most illustrious being James Hewitt who became Lord Lifford, Viscount & Baron of Ireland 1709-1789.
