His father, David Kitson, served a 20 year prison sentence at the time. He and others, Wilton Mkwayi, Laloo Chiba, John Matthews and Sathyandranath 'Mac' Maharaj, were accused of sabotage in 1964 in what would later be called the 'Little Rivonia trial'.
