In this matter the LRC represented an elderly couple in interdicting the sale of their land. The family had been forcibly removed from Simonstown during WW2, and had settled on an erf in Rondevlei, which they purchased. This area was proclaimed a white group area in the early 1980s, and the family was bought out. However, some of them continued to reside on the land. In 1992, the couple were instructed to vacate the land as it had been sold. The LRC brought an urgent application to stop the sale, pending the outcome of an application to the Commission on Land Allocation (ACLA). The order was granted. It is not clear what the outcome of the application to the ACLA was.
