Local histories, Perspectives and experiences
The focus of these interviews covererd the local history around Graaff-Reinet. The interviewees were mainly elderly members of the community and contemporaries of Robert Sobukwe.
Former Councillor of the Bantu Affairs Administration Board. He was a member of the PAC and later joined the UDF. He was detained in the 1980s.
President of the South African Students Movement (SASM) and later a member of the South African Student Organisation (SASO). He was arrested and sentenced. After his release he went into exile and joined the ANC.
The members of this group, Mxolisi Mbilatshwa, Alfred Vuyisile Mdwane, David Mongezi Cebeni and Mzwandile Archibald Ntswayi went into exile in 1985. They were trained in underground operations for the ANC's Umkhonto We Sizwe, but were also active in youth actitivities.
