The LRC represented numerous clients of H&H Construction. These cases involved agreements to build houses at a fixed price. Building started once the half the contract amount had been paid. At a later stage the clients were forced to sign new contracts which differed substantially from the original contarct, , prejudicing the clients. They were also not informed of changes in the contracts. The LRC instituted actions against H&H Construction to cancel these contracts and reclaim money already paid. The company eventually went into liquidation, and owed 47 clients a total of R97000. Some of the earlier claims were successful, but once the company was liquidated, clients received only 24.6 cents in the rand. Client cases include: case 17747/82, Sibiya, N vs H&H Construction, case 18773, Kgosi, E vs H&H Construction, case 27969/84, Gwamanda, M vs H&H Construction, case 82381/84, Diale, H vs H&H Construction.

P Sekhanye operated a business in the area of Evaton, known as Ka Mohau Enterprises. He took deposits from people and undertook to build them a house in return. None of these houses were built. The LRC represented several clients of Ka Mohau Enterprises. Summary judgements were obtained for the amounts that had been paid, but these judgements were difficult to execute because Sekhanye could not be found. Eventually he was investigated by the South African Police and charged with fraud. He was sentenced to 7 years suspended for 5 years. He also had to repay the investors a total of R93 700, at R10 000 per month, but he failed to do so.

However, the builder failed to complete the work although the client had paid most of the contract price. The LRC assisted the client in obtaining judgement against Thutuka Builders for the outstanding work.
