Teacher, Colin Cairncross (22) , is hoisted shoulder high by jubilant supporters after being given a 5 year suspended prison sentence for aiding the outlawed African National Congress (ANC). Ten other men were jailed for a total of 83 years for their involvement in guerilla attacks in the Western Cape.

Here Andre Zaaiman, a former infantry captain and combat veteran, explains his reasons at a press conference held by the Cape Town Group EDICESA (Ecumenical Documentation and Information Centre for Eastern and Southern Africa).
