In September 1992, the SADF proposed that the Khosis community move from their section of the Lohatla Battle School and relocate to Jenn-Haven. 38 families resisted removal. As a result, the members of this community experienced harassment by the SADF. The gates to the Gathlose-Maremane reserved were closed, denying the members of the community access to their land. This case was a contempt application brought by Joseph Free, as representative of the Khosis community against the Minister of Defence.
