Consists of two sets of natural history illustrations.
The first set comprises four albums containing coloured and black and white plates and prints cut out of books and journals, together with handwritten notes.
The second set, comprising three volumes, contains a series of drawings and proof-plates for Andrew Smith's "Illustrations of the Zoology of South Africa".

Hitsquads. Testimony of a South African Security Policeman: the full story, by Dirk Coetzee

The testimony was written by Dirk Coetzee in exile, at the ANC Headquarters in Lusaka and in London, with the help of his brother Ben Coetzee. The main body was completed in 1990, and was spell checked and reprinted by Ben Coetzee in 1994.

Dirk Coetzee's testimony would also form part of the submissions to the Harms Commission of Inquiry, which he gave in London.

Diary of Robert Edward Eardley Wilmot (1830-1861), Captain of the 15th Company of rifle Volunteers and Magistrate of the County of Derby.

The diary, which was written between 30 January 1856 - 22 July 1856, describes a journey from Port Elizabeth through the Eastern Province of the Cape of Good Hope, during which he visited mission stations and military forts. Wilmot comments on the tribes, frontier politics, the importance of missions, natural history and on individuals such as Bishop J. Armstrong, C. Brownlee, A. de Smidt, J.B. Ebden, Bishop R. Gray, Sir G. Grey, T.J. Lucas, Chief Sandile, Sir R. Southey and Bishop T.E. Welby.

Pieter Retief

Replica of the Treaty between Pieter Retief and Dingaan, by which Dingaan ceded substantial land to Retief, signed on the 4 February 1838.

Underneath the text of the Treaty is a certificate in Dutch, to the effect that the Treaty was found on the 21 December 1838 in a leather satchel near the bones of Retief, and it is signed by E. Potgieter. The text of the Treaty has been translated into English, and both, the Treaty as well as the certificate have been pasted on a board. Research has uncovered that a number of such replicas of the Treaty have been made.
