Note on the Open Secrets Armscor Archive:
All of the documents and data (some in Excel spreadsheet form) provided to Open Secrets was first delivered to SAHA by Armscor.
Open Secrets is providing all material in digitized form and organised according to the following themes:
• Bulk Data on Armscor Contracts in Excel Spreadsheets, organised by country and by value of the contracts.
• The minutes of Armscor Management Meetings from 1987 to 1990.
• Armscor ‘screens’ which provide summary information of individual Armscor contracts. Included are the limited codes provided by Armscor that decrypt some of the data in the ‘screens’.
• A limited number of Armscor extracts from annual reports on the Special Defence Account (SDA).
Included also in a ‘Summary Data’ folder is the Open Secrets analysis of much of this data in one place. We have attempted to organise the information, particularly that relating to the contracts and the ‘screens’ in such a way as to provide some overall picture about Armscor’s purchases during this period.
The Open Secrets analysis is in both spreadsheet and narrative form.
