Letters to C.T.W. from Edgbaston, Birmingham, and Lincoln College, Oxford to his death in 1979. Their close relationship, travels, his marriage to Joan Edwards, the birth of his son Anthony, to whom C.T.W. was godfather, their travels together, his life in Singapore as Professor of English Literature at Raffles University, the estrangement from his wife, his return to England, his wife's death and remarriage to Nancy Miller, his ventures into publishing and broadcasting, editor for the National Institute for the Blind.
He became an author and critic and until his late 70's student counsellor on the staff of the Royal College of Music. He died at the age of 85, in 1979.
