Scope and content
The collections contains the compiled set of memorabilia and edited letters, which John A Fulton had sent home during his gold mining career in Nevada, Columbia and later Cape Town, Rhodesia and the Johannesburg Rand, between 1898 and 1906.
Volumes I-III in hard copy, colour, spiral bound; Volumes I-IV on DVD; bibliographical sketch of JA Fulton.
The volumes, through Fulton's letters, not only provide an insight into mining management and practices at the time, but also contain research, carried out by the editors of the volumes, on labour issues in the mines, mining personalities, the Boer War (1899-1902) and other matters current during that period.
