The correspondence is chiefly with government officials dealing with all aspects of administration, taxation, losses of cattle during the South African War, visit of Joseph Chamberlain in 1903, meetings between chiefs and government officials, water supply in Stadt, orders to protect land, prevention of the spread of diseases to livesteck, report of deaths among natives caused by epidemics and the tracing of missing tribal members. Also includes tribal debts due to law suits and Chief John Montsioa's debts and lunacy. There are papers concerning Daniel Hendrik Willem Wessels, representative for Bechuanaland in the House of Assembly, about political matters and election campaigning during World War I.
