Empire Exhibition: South Africa

Booklet published for the opening of the Empire Exhibition in 1936, for the exhibits displayed by ISCOR and its associated companies in the South African Iron and Steel Industry Pavilion, and was compiled with the assistance of the Native Affairs Department and its Secretary, the Ethnologist Dr N.J. van Warmelo.
The brochure explains the process and tradition of smelting, smithing, and charcoal making, carried out by the Vhavenda. Also included the text of Nando songs, which often accompanied the hard work. The brochure includes images.
