The amount of £24.5.7d which they had underpaid Inez Mentos was ordered to be paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

Accused of illegally striking 10-14 February 1944 while in the employ of Rieback and Son. They were convicted on 6 May 1944 in the Johannesburg Magistrates' Court and were sentenced to pay a fine of £15 each with a suspended sentence of three months imprisonment with hard labour.

The accused include members of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of South Africa (William Henry Andrews, Moses Monani Kotane, Harry Snitcher, Lucas Phillips, Fred Carneson, Harry Allimothoo Naidoo, Isaac Osher Horvitch and Harold Jack Simons) William John Roberts (member of the Johannesburg District Committee of the Communist Party of South Africa) and Louis Charles Joffe (member of the African Mineworkers Union Fund Raising Committee). The indictment was quashed.
