Gerhard Maré book 'Declassified' drew from what might be called an ‘Archive on post-1994 racialism’ that he collected since 1990. In addition to other materials, this consists of press clippings selected through the filter of his own theoretical and empirical interests. The organising principle of the tens of thousands of clippings is the pervasive presence of race thinking (racialism), actions informed by such thinking, and templates that demand the continuation of racialism, in South Africa post-1994.
