Backlog of boxes not being loaded onto trains due to South African Railway and Harbour Workers Union (SARHWU) strike in March and April 1987

Striking railways workers sign back on to work after the end of the biggest (about 18000 workers), and longest (3 months) strike in the history of South African public service. The victory for members of the S.A. Harbour and the Railway Workers Union came after months of police harassment and conflict which left a number of workers dead and many detained.
