Siding with Britain it gives particular attention to the role of Field Marshal Lord Roberts from his farewell church service at St. Paul's to his departure from South Africa at the end of the War. They contain various accounts and poems by Rudyard Kipling. Some of the events covered are the siege of Ladysmith, the siege of Mafikeng, the occupation of Johannesburg and the fall of Pretoria, amongst other major battles.
Also included is a "Diary kept during the Siege of Ladysmith", byHarry H. Balfour.
Except of a cover page of "The Mafikeng Mail", dated 25 January 1900, all other press cuttings do not give the title of the newspaper and the date of publication.
